Feeling overwhelmed?
Don’t worry, we’ve made preparing for your visit simple! Our goal is to help you feel confident and supported.
Before You Arrive
- Forms First: After you book, you’ll get an email with a few forms (consent, intake, health screenings). Please fill them out at least 24 hours before your visit, or we might have to reschedule.
On the Day of Your Visit
- Arrive On Time: When entering the waiting room, our office door might be closed, but we’ll be right with you! Being on time helps you get the most from your appointment.
- Running Late? If you’re more than 30 minutes late, we may need to cancel your appointment, and a $75 fee might apply.
- How Long Does It Take? First visits are about 90 minutes. Follow-up visits are usually 30-60 minutes.
- Comfort: We have a clean restroom and a diaper changing area for your convenience.
Quick Steps for Your Visit
- Feed Your Baby (Yes, Really!): Please don’t wait to feed your baby! A happy baby is calmer and feeds better during our visit. A small “snack” before you come if it is close to feeding time is fine.
- Bring a Buddy (Optional): If you can, bring a partner or support person. An extra set of eyes and ears is always helpful, and support makes a huge difference!
- Gather Your Gear: If you have questions about your pump or other feeding items, bring them clean and ready to go.
- Insurance Check: If you have insurance questions, please visit this page.
- Relax! Even if you can’t do any of this, that’s okay! Just reaching out is a huge step. We’re here to help you feel confident, enjoy parenting, and build a strong bond with your baby.
What to Expect During Your Visit
- We’ll assess your breasts and your baby’s oral and structural anatomy. We always ask permission before touching.
- We’ll watch at least one feeding. We’ll help with latching, bottle feeding, and/or pumping, depending on your needs.
- You’ll get clear advice, resources, and referrals if you need them.
- There will be plenty of time for all your questions!
- That evening, you’ll get a written and customized plan for your feeding goals. We’ll also send a report to your and your baby’s doctors within 5 business days.
We’re Here for You
- Most feeding challenges take time and practice to improve. Follow-up visits are often helpful.
- You’ll get 14 days of message support from us between visits. Please use it! If we don’t hear from you, we assume things are going well. We truly care and want to help you succeed!
